THE HISTORY OF OUR
'Love to be Green' Mannequin

.......so here is our lovely mannequin with so much history behind her. I knew she was ancient but have recently discovered more information.❤
The intriguing news is Gladys dates back to the early 20th century so has survived through 2 World Wars.....

Her manufacturers Stockman have been providing the finest Haute-Couture houses and fashion industry companies in these forms for decades, in fact since 1867.Her body is made from papier mache using recycled paper. The 'tea stained' colour of the linen has aged gracefully!

I purchased her in the early 1990s from a tailor who was based in London. I gave her the name Gladys, and she has been by my side in my work studio when living in London and now in Devon. I covered her torso in black knitted cloth to protect her aged linen. This is just as well as this special lady has..........

*been used for creating tailored garments (prior to my possession)
*worn more than 100 Bridal Dresses.
*been taken to our numerous Bridal Flower classes.
*been taken to Wedding Fayres.
*been on stage when I have performed Demonstrations at Flower Clubs.
*been used for hundreds of photo shoots.
* been used as a coat and hat stand in my hallway.

Now I shall take much more care of her, she is a real treasure.
